Candidate Recommendations | 2024 Primary Election

 

Below are Mainstream's candidate recommendations in Douglas, Johnson and Wyandotte Counties for select races with a contested Primary Election, only. If a district or candidate is not listed, no recommendation was made for the Primary Election cycle.

Candidates are recommended by a bipartisan volunteer committee and voted on by Mainstream's board of directors. The committee takes into consideration available voting records, public statements and direct interviews when necessary to determine how closely a candidate is aligned with Mainstream and to what degree they will champion our shared values if elected. *State legislator candidates: Friendly Incumbent status is determined by a voting score of 80% or higher at KSLegLookup.org. 

This is not a comprehensive list of all Primary races. A recommendation for the August 6 Primary does not guarantee a candidate will receive Mainstream's recommendation for the General Election. Final candidate recommendations for the November 5 General Election will be released after the August Primary.
